integral part of the Unified Data and Insights team within the
Verizon Business Group(VBG). This Division within Verizon is
developing a new Data Insights Platform to deliver products that
bring value to the customer with a differentiated AI layer and
drive ambitious new business growth targets and an expansion of
products and services offered by VBG. This individual is a key
leader to drive the platform strategy for a AI Insights and Network
Programmability layer for Verizon Business Group products. This
individual will shepherd the definition of the next generation use
cases and architectures that power the insights platforms to be
used internally to champion investments and identify necessary
changes to products and services. S/he will be working on the next
generation use cases and data architecture for supporting the
Insights platform in a hybrid-network utilizing both on-premise and
cloud architectures for data collection, transformation,
correlation, model execution, and API delivery of insights and
data. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AI
strategy and network & cloud architectures, network services,
cloud, applications, and security products, and be able to
identify, analyze, and understand big data networks to support
actionable insights in support of network-centric programs. The
candidate will contribute to new business activities, user
cases/story generation, concept notes, reports, presentations, and
other important data dissemination products as well as
strategy-setting for our SD-WAN, SASE, Wireless, and Wireline
products and services.The role is responsible for 1) identifying
strategic AI initiatives, 2) developing hybrid big data
architectures, 3) defining connectivity options for new data
sources, 4) analyzing data workflows for efficient data delivery in
a real-time environment; 5) partnering with VBG teams, the Verizon
Network teams, and Verizon Technology teams to identify AI and
network architecture needs; 6) documenting AI use cases and
architecture solution; and 7) monitoring data flows and network
performance.Responsibilities will include:
- Define strategic direction for next generation AI use cases,
partnership, technology trends, and Generative AI application for
automated actions.
- Designing and implementing robust, scalable big data
architectures for both cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring
seamless integration and processing across multiple platforms.
- Defining data flows, including ingestion, storage, processing,
and delivery, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Monitoring data flows and architecture performance, identifying
bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborating with security teams to implement and maintain
data security measures, ensuring compliance with industry best
practices.
- Documenting the data architecture, processes, and standards to
ensure consistency and clarity across projects.
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to data engineering
teams, facilitating knowledge sharing and best practices in big
data management. Including user case/story generation for building
out network architectures to meet internal and customer needs.
- Representing the VBG team on appropriate cross-divisional
initiatives and coordinates with other Divisions on specific
projects.
- Staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends in big
data, cloud computing, and op-premise solutions, recommending and
implementing improvements to our architecture and processes. What
we're looking for...You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, or or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years experience in Network Architectures focusing
on developing data driven products and services.
- Three or more years experience in Business Strategy with
experience in Applied AI and Generative AI
- Experience with Use Case/User Stories generation, SCRUM, and
lean product development.
- Five or more years experience in designing and implementing big
data solutions, with a comprehensive understanding of both cloud
(AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and on-premise
environments
- Proficiency in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark,
Kafka, Cloudera).
- Deep knowledge of database systems (e.g., NoSQL, SQL).
- Familiarity with data modeling, data security principles, and
data integration techniques.
- Knowledge of implementing data security measures and ensuring
compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Network Architecture experience in Software Defined
Networking(SD-WAN, etc.), Wireline and Wireless Networking, and
Cloud Application and Services
- Big Data Architecture experience in data handling, process, and
insight development, model development, model execution, and
visualization.
- Demonstrated experience in big data analytics, data insight,
and machine learning modeling.
- Experience with use case creation and story development in an
agile environment to meet internal needs as well as customer
requirements.Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information
Technology preferred.
- AI Business Strategy utilizing next generation AI
Technologies
- Experience working with Cloud & Premise Architecture in a big
data environment
- Ability to synthesize project findings and translate into
architecture recommendations.
- Strong drive for results; ability to effectively prioritize,
adjust quickly to changing priorities and execute while under
pressure
- Demonstrated experience in project management and balancing
priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven effectiveness working in a team-based environment, but

location, the compensation range for this position is between
$133,000.00 and $247,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule.
The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed
job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based
position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your
compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
