About the TeamVIZIO's Technology - Software and Services team is seeking a Solutions Architect to join their growing team. A successful candidate will learn the VIZIO software stack including the operating system architecture, integration layer, app layers, and cloud services. You will work with our product team to understand business requirements, architect, and document the technical solution, and communicate the solution to development teams. The Solution Architect will report to our Senior Manager of Software Engineering. This position will not have direct reports and is an individual contributor. We pride ourselves on being a collaborative team here at Vizio and to accomplish this, we are in office 5 days a week in our Dallas, TX office.What You Will Do

• Business Collaboration: Review requirements documents for feasibility and completeness and collaborate with business to understand the needs.
• Architecture: Design and document technical solutions to business needs.
• Technical Guidance: Create epics and design documents for development teams, communicate the design to the teams, assist with translating the design into user stories, and provide ongoing guidance.
• Technical Excellence: Discover and drive efforts to improve overall technical quality of existing solutions.
• Technical Consistency: Identify opportunities for common solutions across multiple teams and solutions; drive consistency in our approach.
• By 3 months, you should understand the existing architecture from the TV side and have created architectural document templates and established architectural standards.
• By 6 months you should begin architecting new projects at kickoff and working with development teams on delivery.
• By 1 year you will be documenting complex/inefficient existing solutions and driving improvement to them.About You
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • You are great at collaboration and negotiation.
  • You can see what's missing from business requests and technical proposals.
  • At least a bachelor's degree in computer science or similar discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience in embedded systems is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiating technical solutions across multiple teams.
