States of America)Standard Weekly Hours:40Summary:The Director of
Movement Disorders & Stroke Research will develop and lead a
research program focusing on the field of pediatric neurological
movements disorders, stroke, cerebral palsy, dystonia, and
neurodegenerative diseases. The Director will perform research
independently or in collaboration with other co-investigators, on
the topics of kinesiology, rehabilitation, brain plasticity,
neuromodulation, gait analysis, sensory training, robotics, and
artificial intelligence. Responsibilities include the preparation
and submission of grant proposals from internal and external
funding mechanisms, such as the National Institute of Neurological
Disorders & Stroke, the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy &
Developmental Medicine, the National Rehabilitation Center, and
others. The Director will supervise a team of trainees (e.g.,
postdoctoral research fellows, graduate and undergraduate students)
and research assistants who will conduct highly specialized and
advanced research studies on the aforementioned areas of research.
More specifically, the Director will supervise the development of
design, initiation, conduction, analysis, and publication of
research projects of both a retrospective and prospective nature,
as well the participation in high quality development, submission,
maintenance, analysis, and publication of complex and high
risk/high value medical specialty research protocols conducted at
Cook Children's. This is a one-year position with a possibility of
renewal depending on productivity and funding
